How it all started:
Sometimes, someone else’s success can inspire your own.
. That’s what happened to Keith Jaehnert, founder of The Wink Toy Company and creator of The Original Series WINK and bittywink plush emoticon toys.
. One day, Keith was reading about two successful entrepreneurs: one in the plush toy business, the other an Internet mogul. Soon after that, he received an email from a friend with one of those “smiley faces” attached. And then, bang, it struck him: what a great idea for a collectible toy! His young sons confirmed that this wasn’t simply a case of Dad having a silly idea, and The Original Series family of plush emoticon toys was born, as was The Wink Toy Company. Of course, having a Big Idea is one thing: turning it into reality is quite another matter. But, after two years of product research, prototyping and copyright approvals, The Original Series was a “real” Big Idea – to the delight of students, office workers and toy collectors worldwide.
